Single Incision sling
Even thoug TVT is the gold standard for SUI, we have to be aware that TOT has been analized in several studies showing similar results and with a lower rate of complications. The only push back for the TOT technique is the groin pain that patients suffer due to the sling going through all the structures of the inner thigh.
What would you think if we tell you that we can offer a solution that have the same results as TOT without groin pain?
Needleless is introduced as a single incision and fixed into the internal obturator muscle (IOM).
It is a totally intrapelvic system that avoids contact with the known painful areas such as the membrane and external obturator muscle.
We believe that one of the important factors for the success of this treatment is the amount of tissue ingrowth that you get based on the surface of the sling implanted.
Another factor to consider is the length of the sling. As you can see, Needleless is longer than the other single incision slings available, and this is because we know that in order to reach both IOM in all patients size, the sling has to be at least 8cm long.

As you have noticed, NEEDLELESS doesn’t have any anchor to fix the sling. Do TOT’s or TVT’s use Anchors? We believe that our pocket made of mesh will provide more fixation at long term than anchors since it will have tissue ingrowth and it will be integrated in the IOM.
Catherine Ann Matthews, MD, thoughts about Needleless shared at DUGK symposium:
“I think we have learn from the full length slings that tissue integration is enough to hold the sling on position, so I don’t think we need an anchor to make them sit and stay. Needleless has shown in a RCT to be not inferior than TOT’s, but reducing groin/thigh pain complications.“
Needleless got the FDA approval in 2009 and 522PSS completed in 2015. See study.
Benefits summary
Single incision surgical benefits, delivering the same results as traditional SUI slings but no groin pain.
· Placed as a single incision sling without anchors and no skin incisions.
· Fixed with pocket system: No anchors needed. Biological fixation in the internal obturator muscle.
· Fully adjustable bilateral-bidirectional: Thanks to the pockets positioning system, tension can be adjusted at placement.
